Sunday last week was a good day for everyone in the Vietnamese community at Mizzou. An outdoor BBQ held by Vietnamese Student Association (VSA) at MU was an excellent opportunity for gathering up, getting to know new people and enjoying a cozy afternoon under the sunset.

Tuan Anh gives her last speech as the President of the VSA term 2011 - 2012 in the welcome-to-new-students picnic. Thanks so much for your hard work, Anh!

This welcome party for the new school year was a follow-up activity to welcome new students, who had attended an orientation meeting by Vietnamese Institute the day before. This is a chance for VSA to announce new president of the term 2012 – 2013, Mr. Quang Nguyen and appreciate the dedication of VSA Board on the previous term. We also had the pleasure of having the guests and delegates from Vietnam who were attending a training course at Mizzou.

Everyone had a great time with good food and good people. Newly-come students got to meet the seniors and exchanged lots of practical information on networking and academic issues. Others took this time to mingle with old friends and their children. Talks and laughs were everywhere, which would surely be a good start for another exciting year in Columbia.
