The Missouri Agricultural Leaders of Tomorrow (ALOT) held their annual meeting in Columbia on November 5 that included previous ALOT participants and about 150 agricultural professionals. The report and presentation from the participants in Class 16 was the major focus and highlight of the program. The 23 members visited Vietnam for 12 days in July in areas near Hanoi, Can Tho and Ho Chi Minh City to learn about agriculture and related areas including cultural sites and events. They showed over 150 pictures of places visited in Vietnam and reported on what they learned and how they were influenced. They were impressed by the forward-thinking of the Vietnamese people, their quest for knowledge and their innovative skill. The diversity of crops, especially vegetable and fruit crops were evident in the delicious foods that often included fish and noodles. Traffic and density of motorbikes brought several laughs, but members quickly learned that Uber-bike was convenient, efficient and a new experience. Some Vietnamese students attended the event and mentioned it was interesting to see Vietnam and perspectives through a different set of eyes
